This is the view of the dam in my back paddock.
My days have always been fairly busy, mostly in my home, even though I always thought that as I entered my 50's, it might actually slow down somewhat, but there you go, you just don't know what life will send your way.
So due to there being very little affordable rental properties available anywhere for my adult children to live in, 4 of my 5 adult children are living under my roof. This makes life busy because the ones living at home don't drive for various reasons, and so I am "mum's taxi service" for appointments and doing the school run. Luckily we live on a 5 acre rural property, away from the built up areas, and it has a converted garage/sleep-out, and the house itself is a large homestead. Unfortunately, my husband and I still have a rather sizable mortgage to deal with and there has been no work available for my kids in our area, so they can't help out in a big way with contributing to the payments, but they do help as they can.
Of course now, we have the Corona Virus, and social distancing, and well not many people at all can go to a job, if there is even a business that is open to go to. My eldest son, lives with his girlfriend in North Nowra and had a job up until a few weeks ago but now is on the unemployment queue. My daughter has a daughter of her own and they both live with us. I have three other sons, two of whom have chronic fatigue at varying levels that was brought on by a persistent flu when they were in high school, and my youngest son has moderate hearing loss that he developed shortly after birth due to RH factor blood complications. He has to wear hearing aids, and suffers with anger issues and depression sometimes.
So social distancing is not easy in my home due to having 7 people living here. Luckily we very rarely have to go anywhere away from home as I have been a bit of a prepper for many years, so we are pretty well prepared for most emergencies. Supplies have been depleted a little though while we were evacuating from the bush fires over a 3 month period, and now with the corona virus and avoiding going into the city, we are delving into more of those supplies, so I'm am having to stock up again, (difficult as that is when there are limits on groceries and you're lucky to be able to find what you need on the shelf anyway!).
I kind of looked forward to the days when my children would leave home and I finally had some time to myself, but that was very short lived. My daughter and my son, both had bad relationships and children from them, and had to return home, though my son's 4 children are in the custody of their mother. With life the way it is with corona virus at present, I am really glad my family are here at home, where hopefully they will be safe.
Hopefully we will all be safe.
2019 and 2020 have been one heck of a roller coaster ride so far and don't look like changing for some time yet, but as everyone says, "we are all in this together"...globally.
Take care and be kind to one another my friends 😊
